With report cards going home and the talent show on Friday it was a very full day.  I will be starting the Making Sense of Adolescence course for parents in April.  I had a few fliers left over so I included them in the envelopes of most of the report cards that went home.  If any of you parents are interested in registering for that course, please let me know.  On another note…we had our class party last night and there were lots of fun things activities set up for everyone.  We had Twister on the stage (which was still set up from the talent show), Wii games on the wall of the gym with the projector, karaoke on the big screen, and Joredean’s Rock Band with drums and guitar.  In the classroom we had a movie projected on the big screen with the proxima and some of the class watched the movie “Open Season.”  We had hotdogs, chips, lots of pop, and root beer floats.  It was a nice way to celebrate the hard work we did during term 2.  I want to thank Mrs. Miedema for coming to help supervise and to help with the hot dogs etc.  Also, thank you to Mr. McEachern for coming along too.  We had fun sharing some of our treats with Mr. Bird too as he was working late as usual.  Have a great spring break everyone and keep selling chocolates so we can get rid of it all like we did the lollipops.  We made $190.00 on the lollipops sales last week!  See you all in a couple of weeks.  May the force be with you!  Mr. Peterson

I just found out that the almonds we got actually have 30 boxes per case and not 25 as I had ordered.  The invoice was more than I had expected and when I investigated further I found out that it was because they sent the wrong ones.  This means that those of you who have taken almonds to sell need to bring back 90.00 not 75.00 as I had previously thought.  I might send back part of the order because it was their mistake, not mine.  I’ll keep you all informed, but please sell what you have already and I’ll ponder on what to do with the others.  Thanks,  Mr. Peterson

Three days left until Spring Break!  Reminder to all class members to bring permission slips for the party on Friday.  Thanks to Mrs. Miedema for volunteering to help supervise Friday night.  Please bring back money for sold cases of almonds and boxes of chocolate bars before Friday and I will give you more for Spring Break.  I would like to see everyone try to sell 5 boxes of chocolate each as a minimum goal.  Students who wish to sell more than this are welcome to do so because the extra money will be put towards other fun activities.  Also, a reminder, I have revised the prizes for the top sellers combining Purdy’s and WF to make it fair so that those who bring in the highest totals will be rewarded with:  2 gig MP3 music and video players for the top two overall sellers valued at $100.00 each.  Third place gets a 1 gig MP3 player valued at $40.00.  Fourth gets a box of 20 Purdy’s chocolate bars.  Top 3 winners who would rather have a box of 20 chocolate bars instead of their MP3 player can do that if they desire because they may already have an MP3 or I-pod and want the chocolate instead.  Reminder that the talent show is on Friday afternoon.  Friday is a full day even though Wednesday and Thursday are early dismissal.  Any parents wishing to discuss report cards can come see me on either of the early dismissal days or you can come to the party Friday night and chat more informally while we supervise the games and activities.    I hope everyone is getting excited for Spring Break.  I think we can all use a nice break so we can get ready to come back and work hard the last term.  Please take a moment and complete the very, very short online survey about your opinions of Spring Break in our district.  I did the survey and it took about 1 minute so it is definitely not a burden to complete, but the results of the survey will be used to determine when we have Spring Break in future years and whether or not it will be the same type of thing as this year or not.  The password codes are on the yellow sheets sent home with each student today.  Kodiak Days way fun today.  I went skating and had fun down at the Taylor Ice Center.  I will be feeling it tomorrow!  Take care!  Mr. Peterson

Hello everyone!  Well, when it rains it pours!  Today we got our gourmet lollipops, more Purdy’s and our chocolate almonds.  Thanks to Dale, Zachery and Tyler for helping to unload it after school today.  I don’t think we will have to do much other fundraising if we get all of this stock sold!  We will sell the lollipops at school so there won’t be any door to door sales with those.  I checked the label on the chocolate almond box and they say that they are peanut free.  I recommend that students always use the buddy system and that they get permission before going out to sell.  Many thanks to all of the parents who have taken chocolate to their work etc.  etc!).  I will be sending home a permission slip for our class party we are having March 14th.  The plan is to meet at the school at 7:00PM and stay until 9:30PM.  If any parents are interested in coming to participate and help supervise, please let me know.  It would be nice to have a few helpers.   Mr. Peterson
