Hello everyone. Just a reminder to get the Dr. Kearney yellow sheets handed back ASAP. Also, a reminder that we are having a Math test on adding and subtracting integers on Thursday and Lesson 29 Spelling test on Friday. All those in Word Weavers need to bring back forms ASAP as well. Chocolate sales are going well. If everyone keeps up the hard work we will have enough for our camping trip and our grad events. The video dance option will cost at least 1200.00 and I am still checking to see if they can come on that date. If I do book it we will have to sell the rest of our chocolate bars to pay for that. We still have 24 boxes of Purdy’s left to sell (20 per box). I think we can do it, but if we need to try new neighborhoods we might have to carpool and I would be willing to help out with that next week sometime if there is interest. I was talking to Mr. Haddrell and he said that there is still room for more Grade 7 girls to join the Badminton team. I would encourage any of you girls in the class who are interested to contact him because you should do that tomorrow or Friday. I want to thank you all for being a great class and for working so hard this year. We are only 2 and a half months from being done and then you all get to prepare for Dr. Kearney. The orientation is happening in May. Also, I will be getting permission slips ready tomorrow for our China party next Friday. We will meet at the school at 5:00 pm on April 25 and have a Chinese food supper, then those wishing to play Rockband can do that while others play Wii games and I will also show a movie in the classroom that has a China theme/setting (It will be G or PG and will be on the permission slip). The party will be done by 8:00 pm. We will also have birthday cake for our April birthdays in the class. See you all tomorrow.Mr. Peterson
Today we started a new unit in Math: Adding and Subtracting Integers. The Math assignment is pages 245-247. SPCA donations are being collected this week again. Also, a constant reminder to everyone to bring back chocolate money. In Science today we started worksheets which will be due at the end of class on Wednesday. Spelling will be due on Thursday this week because of the NID on Friday. The assignment this week is SV 28 and the words should be written in the agendas. We are studying Ancient China for Social Studies. I am looking into having a field trip to a Chinese restaurant sometime this month as we finish the studies. It will be a nice way to learn about some of the food from China and a good excuse to get out and have a fun trip too! Look for permission slips for that field trip in the near future. Book orders for the April Scholastic Arrow order form are due back April 14th. Also, a newsletter went home today with some important dates: April 9th will be the assembly and awards for term 2 academics. Parents are invited to attend. April 11 is a non-instructional day NID so no school for students that day. The NID in May is on the 9th and it will focus on the plans for the 2008-2009 school year. Have a great Monday! Mr. Peterson
Hello! It is April already and our first week of school after the break has been completed. Just under three months to go and the year is over. Time has sure gone quickly. We are getting into new units of study in Socials with Ancient China and in Science with the Chemistry units. Congratulations to the Science Fair participants who recently went to Dawson Creek and received medals (Dale, Shelby, Michaela, and Natasha). We still have a lot of chocolate bars left so any of you who have sold out can come get more. I don’t want to have to send it back if we can avoid it. Thank you to everyone who has already brought back their money from sales. Also, please remember that the school is collecting donations for the SPCA and if you are interested you can bring things in to school (ie canned dog and cat food). Hope you all have a great weekend. See you Monday. Mr. Peterson
