Today we started a new unit in Math:  Adding and Subtracting Integers.  The Math assignment is pages 245-247.  SPCA donations are being collected this week again.  Also, a constant reminder to everyone to bring back chocolate money.  In Science today we started worksheets which will be due at the end of class on Wednesday.  Spelling will be due on Thursday this week because of the NID on Friday.  The assignment this week is SV 28 and the words should be written in the agendas.  We are studying Ancient China for Social Studies.  I am looking into having a field trip to a Chinese restaurant sometime this month as we finish the studies.  It will be a nice way to learn about some of the food from China and a good excuse to get out and have a fun trip too!  Look for permission slips for that field trip in the near future.  Book orders for the April Scholastic Arrow order form are due back April 14th.  Also, a newsletter went home today with some important dates:  April 9th will be the assembly and awards for term 2 academics.  Parents are invited to attend.  April 11 is a non-instructional day NID so no school for students that day.  The NID in May is on the 9th and it will focus on the plans for the 2008-2009 school year.  Have a great Monday!  Mr. Peterson
