All Hallows Eve! October 30

Halloween is tomorrow.  Remember that there is a recall on chocolate gold coins so don’t eat them.  Throw them away.  Some were found to contain a product called melamine which is poisonous.  Costumes can be worn to school or brought to school and put on at lunch time.  Our class party will begin after recess and we will be watching the Star Wars movie Revenge of the Sith.  

Agenda Items:

• Math test Nov. 4, 2008
• Math homework pages 84-85 #’s 3,4,6,12,13
• Book orders due Nov. 14, 2008  - there are two order forms for November.  The first is the regular Nov. Arrow.  The second is the Teen Readers Club order form.  Some of the books in that one are more geared for older teenagers so please check with parents before ordering.  Books containing mature content have a letter M printed by the description on the order form.  Several students were excited to see the Twilight books in that catalogue!
• Halloween Dance tomorrow afternoon.  Prizes will be awarded for best male and female intermediate costume at the dance.

• Fundraising due tomorrow.
• Had Science test today.
• Book orders for October arrived today and were handed out.  November book orders are due back Nov. 14, 2008
• Volleyball exam Oct. 30, 2008
• All previously overdue work will result in an “I” grade.  This turns into an “F” if not completed by end of term.
• Remember Halloween assignments for Friday.
• Don’t eat any gold coin candies at Halloween.  There has been a recall on those.

• Math Test retake – Oct. 28/08  (Today’s math class was dedicated to review of the first test in which the class average was quite low.  Scores ranged from 1/25 all the way up to 25/25.  Only three students took advantage of the extra math help given at Math Club on Thursday after school)
• Volleyball exam – Oct. 30/08
• Still missing some Interim Reports to be signed.

Agenda items:  

1. Thank you for all of the returned Interim Reports.  Please sign and return if you haven’t yet.  
2. Fundraising due Oct. 30, 2008 for cookie dough.  
3. Math test today.  If you did not pass, you may join the math club after school tomorrow to get extra help.  Retakes will be on Tuesday.  
4. Meal program forms are due tomorrow.  
5. Tobacco test tomorrow.  
6. Science test next Wednesday.  
7. Spelling test tomorrow.  Check agendas for the words.  
8. Some students have been telling parents that they have no homework, but not actually taking any work home.  If the interim report shows any weakness, and the student is saying they have no homework, then please contact Mr. Peterson or Mr. Stefiuk and we will help clarify the situation.  Students are still encouraged to use the agendas every day.  Many are not taking them home and bringing them back on a regular basis.

• Interim reports have been sent home.  Remember to keep the copy and sign and return the original copy.

1. Picture orders, fundraising forms and money, meal program forms 
2. Math page 69 #1-9
3. Tobacco Test coming up soon
4. French:  Quel temp fait-il?
5. Social Studies:  Title page due by tomorrow.  
6. Science Test coming up.  Study.  
7. Remember to have spelling words in agenda and the test will be on Thursday.
8. No school for students on Friday as it is a non-instruction day.

Here are a few agenda items for today:  

1. Picture proofs were handed out today.  Please bring orders back by the 18th of October.  
2. Fundraising for cookie dough sales need to be returned by Oct. 30. 
3. Math pages 55 #3-11 and 58-60 #3-15.  
4. Spelling test tomorrow!  Study the words that should be in your agendas.  
5. Meal programs sheets need to be returned ASAP.  
6. Social Studies title page is due by next Tuesday.  
7. French – Quel temp fait-il?  
8. Have a great Thursday!  It was fun seeing Mrs. Lang (orange hair) and Mr. Stobbe (pink hair) at the assembly today.
